As a graphic designer constantly working with low-resolution client assets, I’ve developed a deep-seated anxiety about receiving images that look promising on a phone screen but fall apart the moment I drop them into a print layout. I recently had a project involving a historical logo that only existed as a tiny, blurry JPEG from an old website. I was dreading the manual vector tracing until I decided to see if upscaling could buy me a better starting point. I used the AI Sharpen Photo feature, and I have to admit I was skeptical. The transformation was far more coherent than I expected; the AI seemed to understand the geometry of the logo, sharpening the edges and reconstructing the subtle gradient details that were completely lost in the original compression artifacts. It turned an unusable thumbnail into a solid reference that I could then trace with confidence. It’s a massive relief to have a tool that handles the grunt work of interpretation, letting me focus on the creative heavy lifting instead of spending billable hours trying to decipher pixelated mush.
